Obstetrics

Whether you are visiting my website because you have recently found out that you are pregnant (congratulations!), or you are hoping to become pregnant, I can help. Our practice is a welcoming space where your comfort and well being is the priority.

I suggest coming for your first appointment anywhere between 7 – 12 weeks of pregnancy. During this appointment your health and medical history will be discussed, we will review your due date and discuss birth choices. This is the perfect time to discuss any questions you may have.

Following this initial appointment, I will see you approximately 4 weekly until 28 weeks, followed by fortnightly until 36 weeks, and finally weekly until your baby is born. I will then see you again approximately 6 weeks following the birth. I specialise in both normal, uncomplicated pregnancies as well as high risk pregnancies.

Fees & Charges

I believe all fees should be transparent in order to assist patients with financial planning throughout the pregnancy. If you have any questions please ask.

Initial Appointment
$280

Pregnancy Management Fee
$2,700

This fee is charged at your first visit after your pregnancy reaches 20 weeks. This fee entitles you to 24/7 care throughout the pregnancy through to delivery. The PMF is a separate fee from all other charges, including consultations and deliveries.

Medicare and Private Health Care

I recommend phoning your Private Health Insurance provider to discuss exactly what your cover includes. This will reduce any surprise out of pocket expenses, confirm your gap payments and give you a better idea of what to expect. All visits are classed as outpatient services and can be claimed through Medicare for a partial refund.

Other expenses

During the course of your pregnancy and delivery, the following services may incur additional charges:

Blood tests
Ultrasounds
Paediatrician
Surgical assistant (if you have a caesarean section)
Anaesthetist (if you have an epidural or caesarean section)

For these services, accounts will be issued separately by the firms or practitioners involved. Where possible, you will be provided with their contact details in advance so you can request a quote.
